I enjoyed last years carinthia videos. There was a new video weekly.
Thanks John, we’re gearing back up for more Carinthia Reports, now that Dew Tour has rolled out of town…
Carinthia is serious, what would make it more serious is having a booter somewhere with one of those big air bags to launch into and test out spins, flips, or whatever, and not get wrecked. Cant wait to see the dew tour set up! Park crew does work!
^ Agree..Clear out the Junkyard and put one right there for sure
We’re looking into it.
You know we met a woman who has one of these things yesterday it is something Marketing and Events are taking a serious look at for the summer and winter…
What parks are gonna be open during the dew tour if any? and are their any free giveaways at the dew tour
Nitro, Titanium, Grommet, Gulch, Prospector, Junkyard, and MineShaft with a brand new mini-pipe will all be open to the public. Only Inferno and the Pipe will be closed and obviously the Pit was demo’d for festival village. Having a big giant pile of snow where the Toyota Tower wasn’t the best idea. See you on the mountain.
when are you gonna get some pics of the slopestyle course up? also, some video from prelims?
ask and ye shall receive, danny boy. new stuff hitting the dew tour blog soon.
hey there was a mimi-photoshoot 2 sundays ago 3/4/10 and i was wondering if you were going to put the pics up?
That was a shoot we did for promotional photography next year. Don’t know if we’ll be posting the photos just yet.
Are there any plans to put features on Rusty Nail, Fool’s Gold, Iron Run?
Currently there really isn’t enough natural snow to do so. If we were getting the love that DC and some of our friends down south are we would be doing so but right now we have to stick to the parks that have the most snow.
Yea. It’ll be nice to utilize one of these trails for smaller features like a progression park or something. Sometimes when I ride with my female friends they get bored in Carinthia because the features in the grommet are too small and jumps on Nitro are too big. For this sole reason they’re not renewing their pass next year.
It will be awesome if the park photos can be kept up to date with a time stamp once a feature is changed. For example, there’s still a photo of the tire on Nitro which is long gone. Thanks!
good suggestion… will keep that in mind
Now that the tour is over we’re going to go back through all our parks with the Go Pro to give you a first hand perspective on our parks and also make sure the photos are all updated as we’ve made some changes and now Inferno will be open.
When are the Park Videos coming?
what new features are going to be put in and where?
Bob we’ve got our signature 30′ rainbow rail going into Inferno & a 36′ trap rail going in as well later in the week. The Nike 6.0 Rail is going to stay in Inferno just we filled in the gap. We’re working on figuring out where the big Gatorade Jug is going to go. Probably in the Pit. Just a few of the newbies that are going on.
You should link this up to the front page….the two best boarders in the world say we have “pretty much the sickest park” !!! http://vimeo.com/9282452
Absolutely we’ll get this up there great call Will!
Will inferno be open this weekend???????
It opened up today with 10 features.
props for keeping the parks fresh this past weekend! pleeease bring the big tire back to nitro it looks like the wind blew it away! keep up the good work!
What ever happened to the Wall Ride that used to be in the Gulch on Main mtn 2 years ago? that was my favorite feature!
i know grommit is open late some nights. Where’s the best way to find that out?
Sorry Drew but we are not doing the Grommet nights anymore.
y not it was so sik and u guys still have da lights up so wats da point of not doin it
Hey, i think a high speed row tow serviced park would be a really good addition to the park. it would be great in grommet or in minshaft or something like that. It’s how riders get to be so good in the midwest
I AGREE!!!!!
what features are in mineshaft besides the pipe?
Dear Carinthia Coordinators,
some friends and I have been discussing that it would be awesome to have a more female friendly beginner park trail with smaller kickers, ride on boxes and features. The Grom park is great and all but it’s too small and too short. A longer trail but with similar sized features would be perfect for females who want to get into park but a little too nervous hitting up Nitro/Gulch. We see girls go down some of the larger trails on the side in Carinthia with their male friends all the time but can’t hit the jumps on those trails and our female friends tell us this all the time and wished there would be smaller features on a longer trail that they can just loop to progress. This would definitely encourage more female riders to hit up Carinthia and I’m sure all the dudes would love that too. Please take this suggestion into consideration. Thank you
Thank you for the feedback. We will pass this along to our terrain park manager.
DONT DO THIS
is inferno going to be open this weekend
is inferno giong to be open this saturday after video park
The plan is to have it open tomorrow, depends on what the snow does to us tonight though.
can you guys change the park!? I bought a mt snow pass because you usually constantly are switching it up… this year has been pretty much the same park day in day out. I’ve been riding killington to get away from the same thing. Don’t get me wrong I absolutely love it but change it up… lets see some new stuff- manual pad jumps, big bonk jibs, love a roller coaster BOX so snowboarders can actually hit it… otherwise keep it up. one love
I totally agree. I have a pass and have much love for Carinthia but it needs more variety to keep the riders loyal. The Gulch is getting some new features as I saw the new C-box, new bonk, and a spine for stalling. Definitely a good change up. I would hit up the C but it’s not hiking friendly.
More Carinthia Reports Please!!!!! For us that can’t get to mount snow so often, it is nice to see what’s happening every now and then.
Carinthia’s parks are ill but can we please change things up soon. The gulch is getting super boring and all the 3 jumps in the park need to be re-done and the hip needs to be removed. Some jibs should be put in on the flat section and in inferno the nike 6.0 box should be changed because right now you just slam into it. No complaints about nitro, its a mad fun park to lap. Keep up the good work.
The terrain parks are off the hook these days. Nitro has a sick layout. I like to loop mineshaft, prospector, then lower Nitro. It would be nice if some of the features would be moved around for different speed approaches and tire should definitely come back. The jump that goes onto the shed is crazy. Are you guys going to build some stuff on the natural snow trails now? You said before that you weren’t because there was little snow and now there’s a ton of it.
I think that the 3 jiump on nitro the landing should be steeper
Every time i go up the canyon lift, i see a tow rope.
This towrope is not being used to its full potential.
I think it would be awesome if you guys considered moving it, so it can tow riders for halfpipe and inferno jump access.
I think that this would be benificial to all of the riders who like pipe but hate hiking and for all of the jumpers, cant get enough of the last two jumps.
I really hope you will take this into consideration
You guys are the best, keep it up.
im a season passholder i travel 4 hours to ride every weekend and take 3 full weeks vacation a year here Carinthia rules just lable nitro as a medium park bc its def not a small and put some features on narrow guage bc it always has good snow other than that carinthia is like an acid trip on snow theres just things to blow ur mind EVERYWHERE
im loving nitro but i think for the 3rd jump the landing is getting flatter and flatter and if it steeper i would be sick. Thats my only compain otherwise its sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you guys should make your carinthia reports like last year with all those good riders like wilmont, lauder, murphy and others.
Great job this year, although Nitro is long overdue for a rebuild. Also would love to see the doghouse and/or a wall ride somewhere in nitro or gulch. Keep up the sickness.
nitro needs to be changed, i come at least twice a week and im gettin bored. please chang the set up. id like to see some snow butter boxes seen as you have enough snow now, and change gulch up. everythings been the same all season. still the best park on the east tho
Planning on visiting on 3/20 – 3.21. What will be closed for the Free ski event? Will the superpipe be open to the public on 3/20?
Inferno will be closed on 3/20 and the pipe closed on 3/21. Nothing else will be closed on any other day that weekend.
Yo Carinthia is dope but switch it up a little. One Love
It would be sick if you guys put some new features in Nitro or at least move some stuff around. You should put up that roller coaster box on the side of lower nitro and you should put up the huge propane tank in junkyard like last year. Oh, and maybe a wall ride
Hey Ms i love the parks easily the best around. Is there any way you could put in a couple longer boxs? thanks!
what new feautres have been put in in the last 2 weeks? is anything in the pit yet?
The Pit is being worked on and is looking sick. The top of Inferno has new rollers leading into the features.
will the Pit be done for the upcoming weekend to ride on?
When is the next time that inferno will be open to public again. I went wednesday hoping to get in a day before they closed it for the open and it was already closed for groom. Sunday? Monday?
yo what happened to the sick edits that were being put out last year? the new intel and gold project are ill, but you should be puting out quality stuff like shane did last year.
How much longer will the park be open for this season?
Over the weekend I was at the Pit and even when I dropped into the backside of the quarterpipe from on top of the Gatorade tank, you can not get enough speed to ride the wall ride. That huge bowl looks cool and everything, but its close to impossible to get enough speed to ride onto the walls. The Gatorade tank should also be put closer to the top lip of the 1/4 pipe so you can stall on it.
when was the last time they groomed, last weekend with the hotter weather all the jumps and landings were shot hope they fixed it up a little bit for tomorrow
I love mount snow to death but carinthia needs diversity. Nitro has been pretty much the same thing since opening day and it needs to be different. Well actually, just about all the parks have been the same for all or most of the year. A weekly reworking of the parks–the jibs not necessarily the jumps– would make it so much more fun. Just hanging around carinthia, I periodically here cries not dissimilar to that of my own.
Just my five cents
stay open longer well take turns cranking the Nitro express by hand until there is no snow left
Are ticket prices really going to be full price until the 10th???
As of Monday, March 29th:
• Lift Tickets will be:
MIDWEEK Adults $55, Young Adults $45, Jr/Sr $35
WEEKEND Adults $59, Young Adults $49, Jr/Sr $39
LAST WEEKEND APRIL 10 – 11: $25 ALL LIFT TICKETS
you should push all the snow from trails that nobody uses on nitro and have the quad run until the snow is gone.
this is probably the best idea. people will constantly come every weekend until the snow disappears. tons of snow is going to be left over on mineshaft and inferno. It would be awesome if the park could stay open until May like Killington is going to do so
also you guys should take out the mini pipe and make a quad
yo you guys rebuilding/opening inferno, and the gulch for the weekend?
The Gulch will be open but Inferno is closed.
Will Nitro be open? and they will still have features, right?
Yes Nitro is open and it has features
can you tell me why inferno would be close there is tons of snow? kind of weak if you ask me…last year it was open longer i believe
Inferno is closed because the Cutter’s Camp was building in it. Over the past several weeks the track on Inferno was too slow due to the warm temps so it was determined that it would be best to close it and use it for Cutters.
i think you should of put more info on the site so more people would of knew more about this weekend i would os loved to come up looked on the snow report and never siad anything about this weekend thanks
