The Park Crew is hard at work setting the last rails and fine tuning the all the jump lips in upper Nitro. Here are shots of some of the rails that are set so far. You can also expect a two jump line so you can link those spins together.

Prospector Happenings

Posted on 25. Jan, 2012 by in C BLOG

So there has been a lot of building happening in Prospector over the last week. This year the crew is going for a tighter run that has a flow that is less straight. If you look on prospectors page you can see pics of the features that are already finished.

The feature that Ian is working on here is planned to be an upside down rainbow log.  There are some other features being worked on today too, but all I will tell you about them is that they involve a pine tree and a large cable spool.

Pipe, Dew Tour and X-Games

Posted on 19. Jan, 2012 by in C BLOG

I can finally say that our pipe will be opening!!! Our Park Staff and Snowmakers did a great job getting all that snow made and pushing it into place despite the not so friendly weather.

Since we are on the subject of pipe, at the Dew Tour stop this weekend, Carinthia skier Devin Logan will be competing in both Women’s Pipe and Slopestyle, Carinthia skier Nick Goepper will be competing in Men’s Slopestyle and boarder Justin Morgan will be competing in Men’s Slopestyle.  So if you are watching any of it keep an eye out for them.  They will also be competing in the X-Games in Aspen the following week.  We are wishing them luck and hoping for gold of course!

Pop-Up Jams

Posted on 20. Dec, 2011 by in C BLOG

We are not going tell you where or when because that defeats the purpose of a Pop-Up Jam!  Well I guess we have to tell you when to make sure everyone is ready for it right?!

On Tuesday December 27 and Thursday December 29 we will randomly pick a feature in one of our parks and have a 45min. jam sesh on it.  There will be one jam each morning somewhere around 10am & 11am and one each afternoon somewhere around 1pm & 2pm.  The sick part of a Pop-Up jam is that’s all the info you get, so make sure you’re ready on the spur of the moment!

-There is no entry fee! But, you must register for this event.  Registration will take place in the Carinthia lodge each morning from 8am – 9am.
-If you over sleep, yes you can register at the jam, but that will cut into your time to compete.
-Once you register you will get a little sticker to put on your pass or lift ticket.  This sticker can be used at any of the Pop-Up Jams that week.
-You don’t have to register to join in, however no registration = no awesome prizes.
-There will be two Pop-Up Jams on Tuesday Dec 27 and two on Thursday Dec 29. The first one around 10am or 11am and the second around 1pm or 2pm.
-It’s open to both skiers and riders!
